Early on in the 1950 film Sunset Boulevard we see Joe pick up his car from behind Rudy's Shine Shop. "Rudy never asked any questions. He'd just look at your heels and know the score."
He then drives out onto the street passing Rudy's:

First you can see the antenna of the Hollywood Pacific Theater:
When he pulls onto the street we see the Taft Building (in yellow) and the sign for the Brown Derby (in red):
Here is a 1950s shot from down the street. Rudy's is circled in white:
Today the Vine Manor Hotel is gone, replaced by the Capitol Records Building and Rudy's has been torn down and become a few extra parking spaces in the lot across the street next to a tall office building.

The approximate address of Rudy's was 1765 Vine Street. If you go make sure and bring your own polish.
The Capitol Records building is at 1750 Vine, south of Yucca, below that red brick building, and directly across from Rudy's.
